Dear Sir or Madam:

I am writing to you in support of the Florida Breast Cancer Coalition’s nomination of the Florida Breast Cancer Coalition Research Foundation for the Best Practices Award administered by the National breast Cancer Coalition.

I was fortunate to work with the NBCC during my tenure as U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services. Now, as a member of the FBCC’s Advisory Board, I am keenly aware of the outstanding breast cancer research and education programs they provide throughout Florida. The organization has a strong track record in strategic areas such as access, public policy, and advocacy. They have always set the bar high and are a terrific role model for other organizations.

As a matter of fact, the University of Miami has been a grateful recipient of several research and education grants from the FBCCRF. We are particularly proud of the grants that have supported essential education programs in our local Haitian community.

There is no cause more noble than that of eradicating breast cancer. The only way to reach this goal is for all of us to work together through an aggressive and concerted research and education effort.

I am pleased to offer my highest recommendation and reference for the Florida Breast Cancer Coalition and the Florida Breast Cancer Coalition Research Foundation. Thank you for your thoughtful consideration of their application for the Best Practices Award.
